Echoes created a bespoke app for Lewes Castle & Museum. This project presented a number of different unique and challenging features.
Echoes worked with celebrated sound artist Joseph Young, who created an immersive audio guide that combined amazing binaural sound design with an engaging and informative narrative, leading you around the castle grounds and museum.
The app needed to be fully accessible for blind and partially sighted users, and we worked closely with Sensing Culture, attending focus groups in order to emulate best practice for accessible app design.
The app also needed to be easy to use for a wide range of users, while utilising GPS-triggered content and iBeacon technology, and still being usable in a fully manual mode.
The result is a simple but carefully designed and robust app that satisfies a wide gamut of different visitor’s needs.
